Firstly I want to thank you all my +400 watchers, I have no idea where did you all come from, but wow. You are all awesome.
This painting was inspired by few things. For me the Swifts are the sign of summer. So the first time I saw them this year I was so overjoyed that I nearly crashed my bike into a tree (I was too busy looking at the sky, so I did see where I was going). I was also listening to this song [link] (I swear I didn't see the music video untill now : O ) while I was cycling so The whole situation turned out so awfully emotional that I though I must paint Swifts. Also the fact that best time to see and hear Swifts is the evening was also big part of the inspiration. (as you can probably see)
Also, I said last time that I don't really paint anymore because it doesn't feel good. Well I found out why, I know artist shouldn't blame equipments for anything but I must blame my old brush this time. It was so worn out that it felt like trying to paint with fork, I didn't even realise that before I bought new brush (For fun here is picture of old and new brush [link] they are same size and same brand). So hopefully I'll start painting little more now.
I feel exactly the same about swifts! The sign of summer, and I get very melancholic when it gets to August and they leave again. I love the painting. Your swifts are exquisite, and so is the background!
oh, I see... looks like they're not related to swallows at all, even if a bigger "cousin". I know how you feel (same here), the moment when weather changes, it's warmer and you see them flying, that's a precious moment.
are those like swallows? loving them too
Those are Common Swifts [link] very similar to swallows but they are actually more related to hummingbirds.
